Betting on handicaps might sound a bit tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it's a game-changer!

This guide will break it down in the simplest way, so you’ll be ready to make smarter bets in no time. Let's dive in!

What is handicap betting?

Handicap betting is a way to balance the odds when one team is stronger than the other.

It helps make the match more exciting and the bets more even!

In sports, there are always factors that can affect the outcome of a game. We take these into account when setting odds to reflect each team or player’s chances of winning.

Sometimes, the odds can be heavily one-sided, making it hard to find value, especially if you're betting on the favourite.

That’s where handicap betting comes in!

Also called spread or Asian handicap betting, this method helps balance things out by giving one team a virtual head start or deficit (the handicap). The favourite gets a negative handicap, while the underdog gets a positive one.

After the event, if your team’s score, with the handicap applied, is still higher than the opponent’s, you win the bet!

In most cases, you can customize your handicap or totals in the bet builder section, like shown below.
